There are two levels of server management that the Steady Networking can offer: Server Monitoring and Comprehensive Management. There is also a server 'health check' service. Because the work being undertaken by Steady Networking is very variable and, in a number of cases, difficult to define precisely, Steady Networking will often provide estimates for the work involved, rather than a fixed price quotation. Small overruns on estimates will not be charged to customers and if the overrun might be significant, the customer will be contacted with details of the expected overrun. In the case of underruns, the customer will only be charged for the work done. When Steady Networking performs an audit of systems there is a charge for this and the production of the report. A quotation for the cost of this will be provided after initial consultations have determined the exact requirements. The audit report will specify an estimate for the cost of the work that it suggests should be done along with a quotation for any annual management charge for the subsequent management of the system, if that is appropriate. All charges are subject to change without notice.
Standard Hourly Rate The standard rate is £65 per man-hour. Call times are rounded to the next highest hour. If a long term commitment to an hourly charged service is required, the hourly rate will be discounted by an amount dependant on the nature of the service required. POA. For highly skilled support work (such as server recovery), for organisations with whom Steady Networking does not have an established service agreement, we would charge £80 per man-hour. In the context of a server monitoring agreement, such work would be charged at the standard hourly rate £65 per man-hour, and for the comprehensive server management agreement, there is no charge. Remote or Telephone Support £20 per call lasting no more than 15 minutes. £15 for each additional 15 minutes of telephone or remote support. No Charge for the comprehensive server management agreement. Out of Office Hours including weekends Onsite Support £150 callout charge. £100 per hour or part hour there after. Remote or Telephone Support £100 per call lasting no more than 15 minutes. £30 for each additional 15 minutes of telephone or remote support. Fileserver Management Services The charges specified in this section are per server. However, in situations where multiple servers at one site are being managed, it may be possible to reduce the charge levied for the management of subsequent servers if there are economies of scale or other factors that can be exploited to reduce the overall management effort. Server Monitoring An annual charge of £800 for Windows servers is made for this service. Any work that the customer requests of Steadman Associates beyond the standard monitoring will be charged at the standard hourly rate. Comprehensive Management An annual charge of £1200 for Windows servers is made for servers providing file and print services. There are supplementary charges for servers that are supporting web, email or database servers such as IIS, Exchange, Groupwise or MS SQL. Reduced prices may be available for multiple servers. As the Service Level Agreement indicates, with this service there are very few circumstances where any further charge would be contemplated. Further details are available in the Steady Networking Server Management Services document. Server Checkup Charges for this service are variable, depending on the exact detail of what is required. For example, the number and type of servers to be given a checkup will affect the price. A quotation will be provided after preliminary discussions to determine the extent of the work required. The report which is produced will provide an estimate for the cost of work recommended within it, if this is to be carried out by Steadman Associates.
Any remedial work required to be carried out by Steadman Associates will be charged at the standard hourly rate. Client Workstation Management This service is generally charged at the standard hourly rate. This is based on our experience that, once the client workstations have been set up according to the customer's requirements and Steadman Associates standards, they are very stable and require very little management effort; i.e. the significant work involves the initial setup, rather than the ongoing management. Prior to the commencement of work relating to workstation management, an estimate for the cost of the work will be provided. Specialist Consultancy Charges for this service are variable, depending on the exact detail of what is required, but they will be based on the standard hourly rate.
Miscellaneous Consultancy The Steadman Associates will be happy to consider any IT consultancy requirements. Charging will be on the basis of the types of charging described above.
