Clear Access

clear:ACCESS™ is an attendance monitoring system which uses RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology to monitor staff as they arrive and leave their place of work.

Each member of staff is issued with an RFID tag, usually in the form of a key-ring or credit card sized pass card. The RFID tag is encoded with a unique number which enables the system to identify the employee or contractor when they ‘swipe in’ or ‘swipe out’.

Unlike conventional magnetic strip based solutions, RFID tags do not require the employee to pass the card though a slotted reader. Instead, the tag is simply waved near a special RFID scanning unit with a range of 10cm to 70cm depending on the type of equipment used.

As RFID tags work without having to touch the reader they require no ‘knack’ to use properly. As a result they provide a much quicker method of signing in and out. A further advantage is that, with no moving parts, the readers and the cards are much less likely to wear out.
